More congratulations are in order for Creative Commons-licensed news service ProPublica. This time, ccAustralia congratulates ProPublica reporter Sheri Fink who received the much-coveted Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.

The prestigious accolade was awarded in recognition of Fink’s article “The Deadly Choices at Memorial”, published in collaboration with The New York Times Magazine, which chronicles the urgent life-and-death decisions made by one hospital’s exhausted doctors when they were cut off by the floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina. Fink’s success also marks the first time an online news site has won a in the top journalism prizes.

In February, ProPublica senior reporter T Christian Miller won the 2010 Selden Ring Award for Investigative Reporting for his on-going reporting of the plight of civilian workers injured in Iraq.
